RECENT PAINTINGS AND MONOPRINTS

OFFICIAL OPENING: Friday 2 February, 6pm

EXHIBITION SHOWING: 2 February – 28 March

ARTIST TALK: Tuesday 13 February, 12 – 1pm

Exhibition Statement

In this series of recent paintings and monoprints, Jeremy Barrett continues a lifelong exploration abstraction. The works are exploratory and improvisatory, enabling the artist to arrive at a convincing resolution of formal elements. Barret’s final works are independent of, not reliant on, verbal explanation, with references to socio-economic issues and other obvious visual associations, existing as autonomous statements in visual language, that invite the viewer to make their own interpretations.
